Welcome to SKT – Sea Kayak Torbay

Established in 2017, Sea Kayak Torbay (SKT) is a relatively new company in Torquay, but our small team of experts have been paddling, sailing, coasteering, and swimming in the waters of South Devon for more than 30 years. We specialise in delivering sea kayaking adventures in and around the coves of the English Riviera, including tours and courses. Get in touch today for further details.

Expert Paddlers

SKT is managed by Kieran Laureston, a highly accredited outdoor practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience in leading groups. Having graduated from the School of Adventure Studies in the Highlands in 2014, he holds a first-class Honours degree in Adventure Tourism Management (ATM) and an FdSc in Outdoor Education.
As a BCU 5-star trained Sea Kayak Guide and Coach, Kieran can deliver certified BCU 1- to 3-star training and assessment. He is also trained to deliver sessions to youth groups and persons with accessibility needs. Through his work and study as an adventure guide, he has more than 7 years’ experience working with families and corporate team-building groups.

Our Mission

At SKT, we organise training sessions, courses, trips, and multi-day expeditions for holidaymakers and the local community. Serving children and adults alike, our goal is to increase the accessibility of sea kayaking and share the benefits of low-impact exercise that works your whole body, mind, and soul.

We want to empower all participants with a skill set that will help them advance their kayaking abilities. Providing tandem kayaks, stabilisers, and outriggers, we help our customers gain their water confidence.

From there, you will be able to progress onto entry-level touring kayaks and eventually conquer an expedition sea kayak and head off into the wilderness on your own adventures. Over the next 18 months, we hope to expand our fleet to offer boats for enthusiasts of all levels.
